Disney+ Premieres Ewok Movies and a Boba Fett Cartoon Next Month

Some long-awaited Star Wars movies and series are finally coming to the Disney+ streaming service.

Disney announced on Tuesday that some classic Star Wars cartoons and TV movies are premiering on the service on April 2. They include:

The Ewok ABC TV movies Caravan of Courage and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Caravan of Courage, originally released in 1984 under the title The Ewok Adventure, this George Lucas-produced film starred Warwick Davis and Eric Walker, and focused on a brother and sister who crash-land on Endor and try to reunite with their parents, with the help of Wicket the Ewok. Ewoks: The Battle or Endor is the 1985 follow-up, and stars Davis, Aubree Miller, and Wilford Brimley.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume I and II. Not to be confused with the later CGI animated series, this 2003 series of traditionally-animated shorts was produced by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack) is hailed by critics and fans alike for its style and storyline.

Star Wars: Ewoks (Seasons 1 and 2). This Saturday-morning cartoon series ran from 1985 to 1987 and followed the adventures of Wicket the Ewok and his friends.

“The Story of the Faithful Wookiee.” Better known as The Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett Cartoon, this 1978 short is perhaps the only watchable part of the infamous TV special.

The release of the films and series makes up most, but not all, of the missing Star Wars content on the streaming service. Still out is the full Holiday Special and the Droids animated series, among other programs.
